Collectors Alert! This Vintage Sharp Clock Radio is SUPER RARE and a fine example of what is called the MCM “Space-Age” design aesthetic. Not familiar with Space-Age design? Well, you should be.

The vintage Space-Age design aesthetic, prominent in the 1950s-70s, is a retro-futuristic style inspired by space exploration, featuring sleek, aerodynamic shapes, bold colors (white, orange, yellow, silver), and innovative materials like plastic, fiberglass, and chrome, embodying optimism and technological progress with futuristic, often atomic or rocket-like, motifs.

This Vintage Sharp Clock Radio looks like the console of a space ship. With its sleek curved one-piece case in modern white plastic and smoked brown acrylic covering, you could easily see it onboard a spaceship. Further, the plastic has been etched with the tuning band and made to capture the blue LED light, making the tuning band “glow”. Note the “snooze” button cover is missing. But that’s hardly a distraction.
