This is a vintage replica of a Flying Eyeball and Skull Hawaiian shirt, made using deadstock fabric from the 1950s.

I purchased it about 20 years ago from a vintage select shop called Torisawa Takaaki in Machida. There is no brand tag, as it was originally made this way.
It is a small-batch production item planned by Torisawa Takaaki, using deadstock fabric from the same era as the original, the 1950s.

The aging gives it a wine-red appearance in the first image, depending on the light.

It is meticulously crafted with hand-guided machine embroidery and all sewing done by skilled artisans. There is a name embroidery "John" on the front. It is my interpretation that this item was reconstructed against the backdrop of the custom culture of the time, based on a fictional story of a U.S. soldier ordering an eyeball, skull flag, and name embroidery. I was not given an explanation of the production background when I bought it, as it was an impulse buy because I fell in love with it at first sight, so this is my personal opinion, and I have no proof, but I think it is probably a one-of-a-kind item.
The zipper has "5B 5R" stamped on the back and moves smoothly. The hand-guided machine embroidery by artisans makes the quality different from inexpensive reproductions with the same motif.
It has a tight, vintage-like silhouette that follows the style of the time. Regarding the aging of the fabric, the fading of the velvet is a deep, reddish fading unique to old cotton velvet, not a chemical fiber, and this is a texture that can only be achieved after decades. Please check the images.
Equivalent to size S. Please refer to the following:
(Measured flat, in cm) Length 62.2, Width (1 cm below the armpit) 51.3, Waist 50.5, Hem width 42.4, Shoulder width 41, Sleeve width 24, Sleeve length 61.3

All measurements are taken flat from the front. I have tried to measure as accurately as possible to the millimeter, but please forgive any errors.
I used it for a few years after purchasing it, but I have kept it in storage and as part of my collection for over 15 years. There is some slight wear on the sleeves, but overall, there is no noticeable damage such as moth-eaten holes, and it is in good condition. Please check the images. The lining is generally yellowed, but this is due to the use of deadstock fabric and wear and tear. Please understand this as a vintage item.
It will be shipped in a cardboard box of ample size to prevent creases.
