Do you collect office or school supplies ephemera? It’s ok. Come out of the closet. I’ve found that lots of people are fascinated what kinds of supplies early offices used. Whether it’s staplers, scissors, pens, pencils…and, yes, pencil sharpeners, some folks find the inside scoop on how businesses ran to be fascinating. I do. And, I find it fascinating how well these items hold their values. Maybe it’s their history or maybe we’ve all used an old US stapler and thought “Wow! Now that’s not a Chinese disposable!”
Though the Boston company was founded in 1899, this Vintage Boston Model KS line of sharpener started being manufactured in 1921. It works so well! I tested it to be sure. Puts the perfect point on the pencil. Not the kind of point that’s too sharp and rebreaks immediately…but the perfect ever so slightly blunted tip. This model KS with see through clipping compartment is RARE. By the way, the clippings inside are free!
