Vintage Figa Pendant

Vintage Figa Pendant. Lightweight darker wood with silver tone accents. The silver has no mark that I can see,so I do not know if it is silvertone or sterling. The Figa has a very, very long history with different meanings at different times and in different countries. It's early history began as a symbol of fertility and protection in Italy and Greece. In other countries, like Peru and Brazil, it became a symbol of abundance, good luck, and wards off the evil eye. I also saw in some countries, it can be similar to " flipping the bird" or a rude gesture to someone. It is a bit all over the place with meaning and is interesting when you look it up. The wooden figure is a fist with the thumb wedged between the tucked down index and middle finger and the ring and pinky tucked down, too. It's hard to explain, but if you look close, you see.
