This is a beautiful Bohemian cranberry glass pitcher with a guilded floral poppy design and trim; a clear applied handle.; and a footed base. The upper lip is gold gilded and has rings of gold gilding at the base. There are gold gilded poppies with leaves and stems.
This art glass from the Bohemia region (now Czech Republic), was famous for their rich cranberry-red color (from gold salts) adorned with delicate gold gilding (often vines, flowers, or insects). I do not know when this pitcher was produced.
It measures 12” tall.
This pitcher is an excellent condition. There are no chips or scratches. The gold gilding is completely intact.
