Based on 1940s trousers, this piece perfectly recreates the atmosphere of the time, including the sizing and specifications. The "Lot. 702" denim trousers are an iconic item from Taiga Takahashi. The material uses American organic cotton and is made with 3/1 left-hand twill, 100% organic cotton light-ounce denim woven on an old-style power loom in Okayama.

Woven slowly on an old-style power loom, also known as a shuttle loom, which can only weave at a speed of 1/10 to 1/20 of modern looms, the denim fabric retains the unevenness of the cotton yarn, creating a desirable texture. The warp uses indigo mixed with sulfur dyes, resulting in a characteristic green cast color that appears with the passage of time. The weft uses specially ordered nep yarn, rope-dyed with a white core, dyed to a yellowish off-white color that evokes the passage of time. By using these two types of yarn, Taiga Takahashi achieves its unique, deep, and rich original indigo blue. Furthermore, the finishing includes sanforization (shrink-proofing) for a comfortable fit, and ideas are incorporated based on a realistic observation of items from that era. The hem uses selvedge denim fabric, known as "white ear," and the white ear is also used in various places such as the front fly and the inside of the cuffs, creating a stylish design that reflects the movements of the time. The signature leather patch is mud-dyed in Amami Oshima, and the back style is meticulously crafted to create a sense of realism that evokes the era. In the 1940s, details began to change, such as the use of decorative snap buttons instead of rugged iron buttons. By researching Art Deco-style buttons and rivets that were often used at the time, the original colors have been reproduced. This is a timeless product that embraces the craftsmanship and techniques passed down for about 100 years as an "aesthetic," allowing you to experience its aging on your own body and pass it on to the future.
