Toshu: Mineo Okabe's Works
Born as the eldest son of the ceramic artist Tokuro Kato, Mineo Okabe was familiar with ceramics from childhood, and expanded his creative scope based on traditional techniques such as Oribe, Shino, Kiseto, Haiyu, and Tetsuyu. Among them, his Oribe and Shino works, which feature Jomon patterns on the entire surface of the vessel, are extremely unique and highly regarded. He created works with a unique celadon glaze and color, known as "Mineo Celadon," including the beautiful, transparent glaze and blue-green color of "Suiseiji," and the yellowish-brown "Yohen Beishoku Seiji," which no one else had achieved.
This book allows you to fully enjoy Mineo Okabe's works. After reading it once, it has been stored in its case and outer box, so it is in very good condition.
I acquired it as a hobby and for work, but I have decided to sell it due to a change in circumstances.
For those who are interested, please take a look.
Thank you very much.
