Studio Art Paperweight By Edward Mazurowski ‘75 w/original Handwritten Label

The label identifies this as an “End of Day” piece and notes that some of the colored glass used was reclaimed from the site of the original Sandwich Glass Company. This was a known practice among Sandwich studio glass artists in the 1960s–1970s.
This is not an antique, but a 1970s studio art glass paperweight incorporating reclaimed historic glass cullet. Heavy, well-polished form with controlled bubbles and internal swirl.
A wonderful example of Sandwich studio glass, bridging 19th-century glass history with 20th-century American studio art. A great addition for collectors of Sandwich Glass, studio art glass, or historically inspired paperweights.
It is absolutely possible that some glass in this paperweight originated as discarded material from the 19th-century Sandwich Glass Company as the label suggests!
