Beautiful signed MMA (Metropolitan Museum of Art) dragonfly brooch, inspired by an Art Nouveau French design. Cast in solid brass with an antiqued museum patina, this large piece shows gorgeous etched wing detail and an elongated tail.
The brooch does show noticeable discoloration and patina from age, especially on the back where the original lacquer has worn. This type of oxidation is very common for vintage MMA brass pieces and does not affect wear or structural integrity. The pin mechanism is secure and the brooch displays beautifully when worn.
