A beautiful 13" tall handcrafted wall sculpture featuring a traditional Sacred Heart motif surmounted by a stylized cross. The piece is constructed from sheet metal, consistent with Mexican folk art tinwork (hojalata) or similar rustic metalworking traditions.
The central heart is formed using repoussé techniques to create a convex, dimensional shape. The borders are defined by a crimped edge and a band of punched stippling (dots) that follows the contour of the heart and the cross. The metal possesses a dark, gunmetal grey finish. Visible oxidation and rust deposits are present within the recessed stamped areas and along the seams, providing an aged, primitive aesthetic. A hanging loop is integrated into the top point of the cross.
