A collection of works by Poul Kjærholm, a leading Danish furniture designer of the 20th century. Danish furniture design reached its peak in the 1950s and 1960s with the works of Børge Mogensen, Hans J. Wegner, Finn Juhl, Ole Wanscher, and Kaare Klint. Poul Kjærholm, however, found the most serene and quiet form in furniture design. His unwavering goal of "making form a part of function" is uncompromisingly embodied in all of his works. His use of materials such as steel, leather, rattan (cane), and glass was impeccable. The details were not accidental; everything served to clarify the structural concept. His sense of materials, their quality, and their combinations were unique. At the same time, with his excellent insight, he brought an unparalleled lyrical elegance to his works in Danish furniture design, while minimizing dimensions.
