Series Background: The Treasure Hunt Series was introduced by Mattel in 1995, initially featuring a set of twelve vehicles produced in limited quantities. In 1996 Mattel released this 12-car Treasure Hunt series as part of the yearly limited runs. This set was sold individually and also as a boxed set (limited to ~~5,000 units from JC Penney.
