The image shows a Via Crucis Jesus Christ Medal, which depicts the Stations of the Cross. The Stations of the Cross, also known as the Way of the Cross, Way of Sorrows, or Via Crucis, are a series of images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion and accompanying prayers. It's still an attractive piece and was around during the first world war in what was one the Frontline trenches in the Ukraine. It's for this reason that the condition of this piece is a result of that extremely violent time in human history where so many lives were put to the gun for what is now considered and unsatisfactory reason for the entire planet to try and annihilate itself. And honestly this isn't my opinion but the truth of the matter is is that the majority of the people who lost their lives were basically the same type of people that lose their lives in wars today, and it's always the underprivileged and disassociated and poor and as always ethnicity continues to play a huge role.
