Charles I Rose Farthing is a copper, hammered coin minted between roughly 1638 and 1644, featuring a crowned Tudor rose on the reverse and crossed sceptres with a crown on the obverse . These, often called "Maltravers" or "Rose" farthings, were issued as private tokens to solve small change shortages, featuring Latin legends translating to "Charles by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland" .
