African ethnographic antique: Coiled copper currency Provenance
Known as ‘red gold’ copper was a valuable trading currency amongst tribes and European traders. Often coiled into wearable jewellery which also gave status to its wearer. This coil has a fine patina and is bound with some wear due to age. The main material of this bracelet is bronze. This red copper bracelet is still in good condition and can be worn.
